    Description

The Raspberry Pi 5 16GB is the most powerful Raspberry Pi to date, featuring a Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz and an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU . With 16GB of LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM, this variant is designed for power users and professional applications, including large language models (LLMs), computational fluid dynamics, and memory-intensive desktop workloads . It delivers a 2–3× increase in CPU performance relative to Raspberry Pi 4 and offers a smooth desktop experience for consumers while opening the door to new industrial applications .

    Key Features

    • High-Performance Processor: Broadcom BCM2712 2.4GHz quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 CPU with cryptography extensions, 512KB per-core L2 caches, and a 2MB shared L3 cache
    • 16GB LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM: Massive memory capacity for memory-hungry applications like AI/ML workloads, data processing, and multitasking
    • VideoCore VII GPU: 800MHz GPU supporting OpenGL ES 3.1 and Vulkan 1.3
    • Dual 4Kp60 Display Output: Two micro-HDMI ports supporting 4Kp60 with HDR for high-quality visual applications
    • 4Kp60 HEVC Decoder: Hardware-accelerated video decoding for smooth multimedia playback
    • Custom RP1 I/O Controller: In-house silicon providing increased USB bandwidth (2×), improved camera/display interfaces, and PCIe 2.0 x1 support
    • Connectivity: Dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE, and Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+ support
    • USB Ports: 2 × USB 3.0 (5Gbps) and 2 × USB 2.0 ports
    • Expansion: Standard 40-pin GPIO header, PCIe 2.0 x1 interface (requires M.2 HAT), 2 × 4-lane MIPI camera/display transceivers
    • Convenience Features: Onboard power button, real-time clock (RTC) with external battery connector, and UART debug port
    • Long-Term Availability: Will remain in production until at least January 2036
